Introduction to the National College Student Cosmetics Innovation Competition

The National College Student Cosmetics Innovation Competition is guided by the Teaching Steering Committee of Light Industry Specialty in Colleges and Universities of the Ministry of Education and co-sponsored by China Daily Chemical Industry Association and Beijing Technology and Business University. It is a high-level professional competition for college students across the country. The competition takes the core mission of tapping innovative talents in the cosmetics field and promoting the development of science, technology and creativity in the industry. It is committed to creating a comprehensive platform integrating academic exchanges, technological innovation, and achievement transformation.

Since its establishment in 2023, the competition has been successfully held for two times, attracting active participation from more than 100 universities across the country, including Beijing Institute of Technology, Beijing University of Chemical Technology, Jinan University, South China University of Technology, Beijing Technology University, Jiangnan University, Shanghai University of Applied Technology, Zhengzhou University of Light Industry, Shenyang Pharmaceutical University, etc., covering a total of more than 3000 teachers and students. The participating projects include product formula research and development, packaging design promotion, product innovation and creativity, etc. Since the start of the competition, many outstanding works and creative achievements have emerged, which have widespread influence and reputation in the fields of cosmetics education and industry.

The competition brought together authoritative experts in the industry, senior scholars from universities and technical backbones of enterprises to form a review team. The final examined the players 'professional knowledge, innovative thinking and practical ability through product display and defense review. The competition is not only a concentrated display of the teaching of cosmetics-related majors in colleges and universities, but also an important starting point for testing the effectiveness of talent training in cosmetics majors in colleges and universities and the reform of subject innovation education. The competition helps cultivate compound talents who adapt to the development of the industry and is of far-reaching significance for improving the independent innovation capabilities and international competitiveness of my country's cosmetics industry.
