Founded in 2010 by Hadi Lashkajani, Cvista has built a strong reputation for transforming orange, lemon, lime and grapefruit essential oils into premium natural ingredients for the fragrance and flavor industries. The company serves around 130 customers worldwide.

The move comes as citrus remains one of perfumery’s most important olfactive families, with bright, juicy and fruity notes continuing to drive demand across fine fragrance and personal care.

A strategic lever for rare citrus innovation

“This acquisition represents a strategic lever for innovation in the citrus sector,” said Samantha Mane, President of the Mane Group. According to her, bringing together the two companies’ complementary expertise will accelerate the development of high-value citrus ingredients backed by advanced scientific expertise.

Cvista’s strength lies in its expertise across the entire citrus value chain, from global raw material sourcing to the precise fractionation of aromatic compounds.

The company has developed advanced capabilities in the purification of trace compounds, allowing it to isolate and enhance rare molecules such as valencene, decanal, and nootkatone. Highly prized for the depth, freshness, and sophistication they bring to fragrance compositions, these ingredients represent a valuable asset at a time when perfume houses are increasingly seeking distinctive natural materials.

Florida becomes Mane’s new citrus hub

As part of the acquisition, Mane will transform the Riverview site into a global center of excellence dedicated to citrus.

Cvista’s teams will join the group, while the R&D facilities, pilot plant and production capabilities will be maintained and further expanded. The Florida location gives Mane strategic proximity to one of the United States’ key citrus-growing regions, while strengthening its ability to develop next-generation citrus ingredients for both fragrances and beverages.

The new hub will also support Mane’s recent partnership with Arzeda, a pioneer in computational biology, particularly around the production and commercialization of the ViaLeaf Reb M sweetener technology, as demand continues to grow for functional and reduced-sugar beverages. Cvista’s expertise in natural citrus compounds further strengthens this platform, extending its innovation potential well beyond beverage applications.

An independent, family-owned company, Mane now operates 54 R&D centers, 31 production sites and employs more than 8,500 people across 41 countries.

The investment reflects a broader industry race to secure advanced citrus capabilities as demand grows for natural ingredients and high-precision olfactive fractions. In 2025, International Flavors & Fragrances (IFF) also expanded its footprint in the segment through a partnership with Florida Polytechnic University to establish a Citrus Innovation Center in Lakeland, Florida.
